Complete construction of new story on residential building block in Copenhagen. Several craftsmen trades have been involved to make the transformation from addic space, to fully completed and useable appartments.

Demolition and preparation of the area, which included a complete teardown of the existing roof construction, and creating the construction for the new load bearing elements. The whole enterprise revolved around a wooden beam construction with very large pieces of timber to support the deck and new 5th. floor. The roof construction was prepaired for enabling the construction of 15 new appartments in total, all with roof-integrated terraces in each appartment. The roof was finished with brick tiles and detail intrecately made with zink & alu.

After the roof construction, the interior walls and the interior part was carried out, transforming the area to 15 induvidual appartments, extending the excisting stairway, maintaing the excisting look and feel og the whole staircase. In total, 15 bathrooms where installed, with wetproff barier, concrete slab, tiles and finalization. All surfaces finalized with chosen materials.

The final result was stunning, with appartments that have 5 meters to the cieling at some places, with a pleathra of angles and cosu corners. Everything on top with a nice view over the rooftops of Copenhagens inner city

Special challenges:

To work in the inner city of Copenhagen can be a challanging logistical assinment, if the then ad the factor og working on 5th. floor, with a building full of inhabitants, then it becomes really challenging. The building site didnt have sufficient space to store large amounts of materials, therefor all the materials where delivered according the a very tight delivery schedule and they needed to be hoisted up by either crane or lift, every time.

Special achievement:

In spite of the heavy logistical challenges we delivered to project with full alignment to the original timeschedule. The timber used for the roof construction, where larage and heavy and required some more traditional way of manouvering the materials into position. Accera used ropehoists to lift the framework into mounting position, since robots, heavy machenery or large roof cranes was not possible in that tight area.
