As one of the leading module rental companies in the Nordics, Expandia contracted Accera in the fall of 2024 as a total supplier for the full execution of the project. Accera was responsible for all solutions and assembly of the 2400m2 temporary office modules on the Technical University of Denmark, (DTU) Lyngby campus.
Within the 2.5 month project timeframe, Accera provided experienced and professional staffing that navigated preliminary land surveyance and excavation, interior design and water systems, lighting, electricity and equipment coordination.
Accera conducted all the preparatory work in making the terrain ready for installation of the modules. Contractors took precise measurements of the area and fulfilled all electrical supplies. Water solutions and connections, along with sewage expansion were also handled by Accera’s skilled craftsmen. Once terrain excavation was complete, the temporary foundation was finalized with 1300 tons of crushed concrete that was subsequently compacted and leveled out for a complete temporary foundation.
In efforts to supply further protection for the modules, a vapor barrier was made. In addition to the vapor barrier, an extra layer of heavy duty timber was added for enhanced positioning of the modules onto the provisional infrastructure. In total, Accera coordinated, positioned, and craned 38 modules. Once the modules were in position, the task began of connecting electricity, ventilation, water systems, and exterior installations.
Our artisans were able to build the modules together, resulting in a smooth outer finish that presents as one single entity. Together with installing water drainage canals on top of the roof, our contractors were responsible for all external lighting and a total of 550m2 of outdoor concrete paving.
As a result of the client opting for a different interior room solution, our carpenters dismantled all inside walls prior to construction. Contractors were able to handcraft 130 meters of gypsum wall and installed the accompanying doors. Our electricians supplied additional wireless lighting systems and coded each one to the specific room.
Fiber optic cable connections were installed underneath the ground in relation to the nearby area and integrated into the modules. The entire environment was speckled, sanded, filtered, and painted by our team. The vinyl flooring inside the modules was repaired, redone and added to the polished appearance of the overall project. In order to provide additional heating and cooling when needed, Accera organized the installation of an additional 42 air-to-air heat pumps.
