Fun project ordered by one of our private clients. Job involved cutting a very large pine tree down in size and creating a playhouse / shelter on top of the tree.
The job consisted of initial design, pruning the tree down to size and starting the construction. The treehouse structural parts are built in pinewood protected against water and fungus, reinforced by galvanized steel brackets and steel rods. The outer layer is built in larch tree, which has natural protection againts water and fungus and also gives the right natural look, to match the surrounding. The roof and made from 18mm plywood and covered with roofing felt, installed in a structured manner.
Biggest challenge:
Working in a treetop in 5 meters, requires security and knowhow. All trees are different, so the craftsmen doing the work must be able to constantly be able to design new and solid solutiions in order for reaching the goal of good craftsmenship and a fun & usable playare for the kids.
Biggest achievement:
Cutting the large tree down in scale, securing accurate meassures. If we cut too much off, it would affect the final result, both asthetically and structural.
